Enda
When her distress rockets went unseen, Captain McKellar's crew of the Enda, with a young mother and her child, climbed down onto the rocks near Gounie Point, south of Clanyard Bay, where a gale and blinding snow had driven her ashore on passage from Londonderry to Heysham with linen, dairy produce and livestock.
Flares at first light were answered by the ICI steamer Sodium, anchored nearby, whose lifeboat took the mother, the child and some of the men to Stranraer; the Drummore Lifesaving Crew, arriving through deep snow, led the rest to the Shipwrecked Mariners' Home. Her radio call had been heard on ordinary household sets, and the Donaghadee lifeboat fought across the North Channel only to find the animals alone aboard.
Salvors recovered some of her cargo before she broke up within weeks, and her remains lie close inshore north-east of Gounie Point.

History and LossLost 1953 · Dumfries and Galloway, United Kingdom.
On hire to Burns & Laird Line, she had sailed from Londonderry the afternoon before with 150 head of livestock among her cargo and a crew of twenty-three, and grounded at about 5am on 25 February 1933. Her SOS, broadcast on the BBC Home Service frequency, reported a ship ashore at Port Logan.
A Dundee salvage company worked on her for two weeks and saved part of the cargo, but gave up trying to refloat her when bad weather broke her up early in March.
